How to become a CNA?

In my last post, I had answered one of the most fundamental questions i.e what is a CNA? Today I shall handle the next logical question that the readers of this blog will be having on their mind i.e how to become a CNA. Without any doubt the red cross CNA class is one of the fastest ways to become a certified nursing assistant. You will need to appear and pass CNA exam so as to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. A large number of   hospitals and medical facilities provide the training programmes necessary to become a CNA. Typically a registered nurse will teach you for the programme.  It is not uncommon for classes to run for two or more weeks. The class room programme is invariably followed by hands on training for one month or more.

The students are made familiar with things that they expect to encounter in their real life job. The job of a certified nursing assistant is exceptionally stressful and hence getting the aspirants familiar with what they will have to handle on the job is quite a significant part of the CNA training.

There are 2 parts to the CNA test viz written test and clinical test. The written test tries to judge your common sense level.  A good CNA is expected to have number of qualities like caring, patient and being able to do some physically strenuous activities.

Finally if you are considering to become a certified nursing assistant then ask yourself if you really enjoy helping people or not. If you do then need not worry about other things. Everything else will fall into place.
